The 2nd SS Panzer Division “Das Reich” was one of 38 divisions of the Waffen-SS of Nazi Germany during World War II.

In 1943, Das Reich was transferred bto the Eastern Fron where it participated in the fighting around Kharkov. It was one of three SS divisions which made up the II SS Panzer Corps, which took part in the Battle of Kursk. The Battle of Kursk was the first time that a German strategic offensive was halted before it could break through enemy defences

In the final year of the Second World War, the infamous Panzer elite division Das Reich, also known as Hitler’s Death Army, was known for its mass murders on the Eastern Front.
