In early 2013, researchers from the University of Leicester announced that they had found the body of England’s most notorious monarch, Richard III, underneath one of the city’s car parks. The announcement was the culmination of five months of painstaking work, which constituted some of the most intensive archaeological and scientific analysis ever conducted to uncover and investigate a single skeleton. In this special follow-up programme, the only television team with access to the dig and the scientific tests on the skeleton uses unseen footage and conducts two days of additional interviews to tell this extraordinary forensic detective story in even greater scientific and archaeological detail.
