Versailles Stories – Masters of Time

When the palace was ransacked at about the time of the Revolution, many priceless works of art and furniture were looted and sold abroad – mostly to members of the English nobility. One of the key roles of the Director-General of Versailles – Pierre Arrizoli – is to continue the process of restoring these works to their rightful place back in the palace.

Versailles Stories – Fountains and Fireworks

During the summer months, the gardens of Versailles come alive to the sound of seventeenth-century music and the play of the fountains. Visitors are encouraged to walk through the groves of Versailles where every fountain is happily spouting crystal clear water. Gabriel Novello and his team spend weeks preparing and fine-tuning the fountains for the spectacle, working in tunnels which stretch right the way under the world-famous palace gardens.

Versailles Stories – Putting on a Show
